At the heart of our work is a simple aim: to make sure children and families can access the medical support they need, when they need it. Recently, one family kindly shared how our funding helped their daughter take part in play therapy and the huge difference it’s made:
“We began attending play therapy about six months ago… Our daughter was experiencing high anxiety in certain situations and we felt that she/we needed some help to navigate through this. We have recently concluded treatment sessions with Natalie from PlayConnectGrow, who offered some very useful insights, direction and assistance. Much positive progress has been made; our daughter is noticeably more settled, and as a family we have learned a lot.”
This kind of therapy can be especially helpful for children as play is a natural way for them to learn and to express their feelings. It gives them space to work through difficult emotions in a way that feels safe and manageable, with the child leading the pace.
We’re really pleased to have been able to help this family access the support they needed and grateful to the therapists, like Natalie and our other connections, who do such important work with children every day.
Thank you to everyone who has donated to or supported the Trust in any way. This is the kind of positive impact you’re making possible. 💕
