At Upper Clutha Children’s Medical Trust, we’re always so grateful to hear from families about the difference support has made.
Recently, we were able to help a family whose 2½-year-old child was experiencing high levels of anxiety in certain situations. With the encouragement of their GP, the family reached out to the Trust for support and began attending play therapy sessions with PlayConnectGrow.
Over the course of several months, the sessions provided not only valuable insights and strategies for the child, but also guidance and reassurance for the whole family. Together, they learned new ways to navigate challenges, and they’ve already noticed significant progress — their child is now much more settled, and the household feels calmer and more confident.
The family shared this message with us:
“We are so grateful for the help of the Trust as without it this treatment would not have been a viable option for us financially. Much positive progress has been made; our child is noticeably more settled, and as a family we have learned a lot.”
Stories like this are a reminder of why this work matters. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, children in our community are gaining access to the help they need at a time when it can make the biggest difference.
