Supporting a local family’s therapy journey

At Upper Clutha Children’s Medical Trust, we are constantly reminded of the strength and love within our community.

Recently, we had the privilege of supporting a wonderful local child who was diagnosed with learning difficulties. After a long period of uncertainty and struggle, we were pleased to be able to help the family finally able to access professional therapy.

The child completed 10 sessions with Dynamic Developments, a therapy programme that helped them begin to better understand their emotions and provided their family with strategies to support their development. They found the insights around around cognitive rigidity particularly helpful, as this was one of their biggest challenges.

The family shared with us how valuable and special this support has been:

“It was very valuable and very special for us as it was the first effective treatment we were able to do after more than a year of struggles. I am very grateful to you who made this start possible…Thank you very much for your support!”

Messages like this are why we do what we do. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters, we can help families like this one get the hope and pathway forward they need.
